Hunter is now 11 years old and lives in
San Antonio

Here is Hunter's story....

Hunter was born with a very rare illness called Alagilles Syndrome.
The syndrome caused several problems the main one being liver failure.
(He is also completely blind in one eye)  He had a liver transplant when he was 11 months old and then developed a form of Lymphoma and underwent 3 years of chemo for that. We then discovered about 3 years ago that his kidneys are
failing and he will eventually need a kidney transplant.
He has had numerous surgeries over his lifetime but continues to live a happy life despite all of his medical problems.
Hunter was asked to be a representative for the Texas Transplant Team and compete in the World Transplant Games. He has already traveled to Canada, Thailand and this year is planning on going to Australia to try and bring home the gold once again.
We are very proud of him and all of his accomplishments that he has received despite his on going health problems. We think it is very important for people to hear his wonderful yes I say wonderful story so that they know there is an importance in donating your organs so that others can live an amazing life that would have never been possible had it not been for someone donating organs that they no longer need.
